NFA/ATF - N 07770 Fire Investigation: First Responders (WFIS-130-02)

Fire investigation- First Responders- O 0770 is a two-day course that presents a basic overview of a fire investigation for the first responder. NFA/ATF instructor David Cusatis will lead the course. 

Students will review the basics of fire chemistry and develop and understanding of the role of the first responder in relation to fire suppression and fire investigation. the course will stress the importance of fire scene awareness, evidence identification, preservation, and the basics of a fire investigation. Students will develop an appreciation for the convergence of suppression, investigation, science, and law.
 
CEUs are available for the fire and law enforcement agencies and other professionals. 

This course is free of charge for participants thanks to the Tioga County Fireman's Association. 

Prerequisites: 
  • Eighteen (18) years of age
  • Five (5) years of active service
  • Completion of Essential of Firefighting or equivalent
  • ICS-100 Level (Q0462) and ICS-200-level (Q0463) training, available through NFA online.
The Chief's signature attests that the applicant has met the age and service time and has completed the required training.
